Now is the time for all good Members to tell your story and send in your photos for the Book—

THE HISTORY OF THE SCV MECHANIZED CAVALRY

To be published in 2016-2017 for the 20 Year Anniversary

Rowfant Press is owned by 1st Sergeant Pat O’Connor (1st Battalion Co. F) who will write and publish the book at no set-up cost to the Mechanized Cavalry. O’Connor will hold copyright to the book as author. Books can be purchased at 60% of retail price (wholesale) from the Press (minimum order 10 books with free US postage) and can be sold at retail to raise funds and to raise awareness of what the SCVMC is all about. Sons of Confederate Veterans and the general public can also buy these books.

The book will be paperback and will likely sell for $15-$20 depending on how many pages it is. There will be lots of photos from members and lots of history—that of a group of men who honor the South on two wheels and who are not afraid of adversity in standing up for what they believe in.

We need stories and history, conducted in interviews over the phone or written up (with credit granted and copyright maintained), that reflect well on the Mechanized Cavalry. Final say in what is included will be from Colonel Kevin Stone. This would include: founding, early years, formation of Companies, famous rides, fallen brothers, grave dedications, community events like parades, and anything else that makes a good story and reflects well on the SCVMC. And Captains, be sure to include a list of Company members in good standing.

Yours,

Pat O’Connor
